Each school year, NMYA produces six major shows. All of our roles are played by actors between the ages of 9 and 19, who are enrolled in Advanced Drama. All of our actors are guaranteed a role, and students audition for a part during a one-week intensive audition process.
Successful completion of Drama I is the prerequisite for participation in a major production as an Advanced Drama student.

Drama I
Start on your path to musical and theatrical productions with New Mexico Young Actors.
Students who wish to perform in one of our major theater productions begin by completing the Drama I class. This semester-long class introduces actors to the fundamentals of stage acting and prepares actors for the rigor of our major productions. While many students come to NMYA with prior acting experience, we require completion of Drama I before moving on to Advanced Drama.
